Technician – Plant & Heavy Machinery Technician
Location: Ipswich, UK | Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated Technician to work on a variety of plant and heavy machinery. Whether you're an experienced mechanic or just starting your career, this is a fantastic opportunity to receive training, gain experience, and become part of a growing team in a busy, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service, and repair plant and heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, and other industrial equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained to high safety and performance standards
  • Collaborate with the wider team to meet maintenance schedules and respond to breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, including parts used and repair times
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations while working on-site

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working on heavy machinery or plant equipment is an advantage, but not essential – training is provided
  • A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to safety and following best practices at all times
  • Willingness to work on a shift pattern of days and lates
