Day to Day of the Role:
- Manage the planning, routing, and logistics of Low Loaders and Sprayers to optimise efficiency.
- Proactively manage and address any necessary changes based on demand.
- Ensure the transport plan is effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
- Schedule and coordinate daily store runs to refuel equipment at sites.
- Work with external transport suppliers to secure adequate coverage at the best possible rates.
- Monitor and schedule inspections, MOTs, servicing, and driver holidays.
- Identify operational challenges, potential risks, and opportunities to enhance transport efficiency.
- Maintain the haulage register for all externally sourced transport services.
- Handle phone and email inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Continuously seek improvements to enhance transport operations.
- Update internal systems with fleet and plant records.
- Prepare reports related to transportation planning.
- Provide general administrative support for the Transport department.
- Participate in the ‘Out of Hours’ rota, which requires being on call from 18:00-23:00 on a rota basis.
- Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail).
- Good organisational skills, able to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- A diligent, conscientious, analytical approach with a high standard of administration skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to act on initiative, identify opportunities & proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions.
- Plans and organises systematically yet flexibly to achieve objectives.
