Flux Consulting have partnered with a local company basing its foundations on strong customer service and building long lasting relationships. They have experienced continued growth, which has allowed them to expand to the point where they are now able to offer a complete in house solution for all building services. Due to this continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for an ASAP start.

Your role will be to manage a purchasing department. You will coach staff, be proactive and visionary. You will liaise with customers, set and achieve targets, and develop yourself and the team. This position will support Contract and Project Managers to ensure that the company’s operational needs are fulfilled. You will produce detailed analysis on client and supplier spend, assist with forecasting and cost reduction process implementations, and adhere to set KPI’s. In addition, you will ensure that goods, materials and services are procured in accordance with specified Company requirements relating to the quantity and quality and are delivered in time to meet arranged schedules.

You will have 2 direct reports, consisting of a Procurement Assistant and a Warehouse Controller.

Other duties within this position will include, but not be limited to;

  • Quotation/tender activities.
  • Conduct cost analysis reviews.
  • Maintain electronic and manual filing systems and records.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Source new supply chains where necessary.
  • Build and develop relationships with existing key suppliers.
  • Support other team members and work well as a team.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve queries.
  • Investigate queries and discrepancies with requisitions, receipts, orders and invoices escalating as required.
  • Always act professionally and contribute positively to the Procurement function.
  • Liaise with vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers
  • Develop additional or alternative sources of supply and maintain lists of accepted vendors
  • Verify receipt of goods and services and authorises accounts for payments
  • Raise and maintain purchase orders as required
  • Deal with all internal / external site enquiries in a friendly, professional manner
  • Raise, maintain and amend product and supplier codes as required
  • Mediate rebates / Buying incentives
  • Provide detailed breakdown of client spend
  • Detailed Analysis of spend / supplier spend
  • Assist with high level forecasting

The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and experience;

  • Relevant experience in a similar industry. CIPS would be advantageous
  • Prior experience in construction or engineering industry is required, as is a Commercial office and projects environment background
  • Strong PC literacy - Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Communication – written and verbal. Telephone skills
  • High levels of personal organisation. Target focus, attention to detail.
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively. Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels using tact and diplomacy.

  • Manual driver’s license

This is a permanent, full time position working 07:30am-5pm Monday-Friday. This position pays a competitive salary plus benefits.
