Following the success of Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C is a major nuclear new build project in Suffolk. Now in the construction phase, the project has obtained planning approval and government financial support. Once complete, Sizewell C will deliver dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, playing a vital role in achieving the UK's Net Zero targets by 2050.

We're seeking an experienced Delivery Project Manager to lead on-site activities for construction works and bulk earthworks, ensuring safety, quality, and performance throughout the project's lifecycle.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Project Leadership: Direct and lead activities across the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning milestones are met.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with approvals and project requirements.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to achieve strategic project goals and key milestones.
  • Procurement and Commercial Support: Assist in developing sourcing strategies, tender documents, and technical reviews, while responding to tender queries as needed.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including updates on health and safety, cost, environmental monitoring, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Contractor Oversight: Supervise contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory standards, and project goals.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address risks to maintain smooth project progression.
  • Continuous Improvement: Interface with other projects and programmes to adopt best practices and ensure overall project alignment.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, particularly complex projects with values of 50-100 million or more.
  • Background in civil engineering, with expertise in construction works, including bulk earthworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Significant experience in programme development and resource management.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, adept at fostering collaboration among diverse internal and external parties.
  • Intellectual agility to address complex issues and contribute to a "one team" ethos with the local supply chain.

Desirable

  • Degree-level education or equivalent senior management experience in a related industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and NEC3 contract management.
  • Professional qualifications such as IOSH Construction Safety, PRINCE2, or APM.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Experience working in heavily regulated environments.
