Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee QS who will work alongside and support their dynamic Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to start a career in quantity surveying. You will gain hands-on experience while working on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the Managing Quantity Surveyor in preparing, maintaining, and processing financial and project transactions
  • Assist in compiling all required reports and schedules, and perform general commercial administrative tasks, including filing, managing emails, and following up on communications via email and phone.
  • Manage and analyse project variations, including any claims for loss and expense
  • Assist with carrying out interim valuations; value completed works and applying for payments
  • Support in providing accurate, real-time monthly reports (Cost Value Reconciliations) and forecasts for final outcomes.
  • Assist with analysis of project costs and preparation of monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance
  • Attend site meetings with clients and contractors as required for initial survey and project development
  • Support the Commercial and Sales team with administrative tasks and other ad-hoc responsibilities.

Knowledge and Requirements:

The ideal candidate would have previous experience, Knowledge of the role of a QS and an interest and experience in the construction industry. There would be further development training and opportunities available.

  • Clean driving License Essential
