Due to their continued success, our client, a leading distributor based in Ipswich, is currently recruiting for an experienced Specification Technologist to support their thriving product development team. Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working within a similar specification’s role, ideally within FMCG or similar
  • A knowledge of industry regulatory standards and legal regulations
  • A strong and demonstrable analytical approach, along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong IT skills are essential, including the use of Microsoft software

The successful candidate will be fully responsible for aiding the technical team in all phases of product development, production and provision, and for modifying product specifications to meet business and legal requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Liaising with suppliers and customers to develop and modify product specifications, ensuring that they correctly meet with the specified legal and customer requirements
  • Maintenance of existing specifications through a review program ensuring that all specifications are reviewed within the agreed timescales
  • Conducting site audits and produce accurate factory audit reports
  • Completion of specification writing and spec management within the department

Due to the ever-changing market, this is an extremely varied role which will require you to react and adapt to change with ease.
