We are looking for an Engineer for a permanent workshop-based role in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The position is an ideal opportunity for a field-based service engineer who is looking to get off the road.

This is a permanent position paying between 30,000-35,000 (depending upon experience), working Monday - Friday, 06:00-15:30pm.

Role Overview: -

As Workshop Service Technician you will be required to support Customer Care, Sales department internally. The primary responsibility is ensuring that products are correctly assembled, specifications are met and are safe to operate.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Inspect, recondition, and manage the final preparation of all equipment, ensuring each product meets quality standards
  • Assist the Workshop Supervisor in meeting production demands and requirements
  • Maintain detailed records for each machine, including inspections, parts used and accessories, to assess profitability based on the final sales price/cost
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to assess and improve machines during rework, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and address known issues
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to deliver machines of the highest standard for demonstrations, ensuring first-class machinery
  • Coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure timely Pre-Delivery Inspections or assembly, meeting Sales Department time lines and customer expectations
  • Perform other tasks as required, including occasional travel within the UK and overseas

Qualifications & Skills: -

  • Workshop & Product knowledge required
  • Apprenticeship Level 3 or equivalent in engineering or similar
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Driven to meet targets and deadlines
  • A valid driving license (towing capability is desirable)

The company are initially hiring someone on a 3-month probation period.
