We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance Officer to join our exceptional team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing financial operations, ensuring precise financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. This position requires a solid understanding of financial services and proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software. Ideal candidates will have experience at the Bookkeeper or Finance Assistant level. Knowledge of Management Accounts is not required, as they use an external firm for this purpose.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintain and reconcile financial records using accounting software Sage 50.
  • Conduct data entry tasks with precision to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Check the monthly HMRC postponed VAT statements against the system.
  • Process sales and purchase ledger invoices and credit notes on Sage in GBP, EUR, and USD.
  • Manage payroll processes for up to 20 staff members, including issuing contracts and processing leavers through the external HR system. Manage the company pension scheme.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly profit and loss accounts.
  • Assist external accountants with any queries relating to the preparation of the annual accounts and posting any adjustments onto the system.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Provide general admin support and assist with any other tasks as and when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a finance-related role, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in using accounting software Sage 50 Accounts and Excel.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail to maintain accuracy in financial records.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
