GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and dynamic primary school in Ipswich. This role offers flexible hours with both full-time and part-time options, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
About the role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide tailored support to students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their individual learning requirements are met.
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Help prepare and organise educational materials and resources for classroom activities.
- Monitor and track student progress, reporting any concerns to the teacher.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
- Supervise students during breaks and assist with their daily routines, as necessary.
Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant:
- Have experience working in a primary school setting, with a preference for those with SEN experience.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a patient and nurturing approach.
- Can work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Possess a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- A genuine passion for supporting students in their educational journey.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable.
