A well-respected Nationwide charity is currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to start with them on a temporary contract as soon as possible.

Hours: 35 hours per week, a mixture of late and early shifts (7.45 – 4pm or 11am – 8.15pm) It also includes 1 in 2 weekends working (7.45 – 3pm)Duration: 2-3 monthsLocation: IpswichRate of Pay: £15.50 per hour via an umbrella company

The centre provides accommodation and support, based on individual needs to 39 individuals who are experiencing homelessness. They need a committed and dynamic support worker with a passion to motivate and empower their clients to reach their full potential.

As a motivated and dynamic Support Worker you will be responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control.

You will address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless clients
  • Knowledge and an understanding of the benefits system
  • A positive attitude and motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Proficient in a range of IT packages including Microsoft
  • An Enhanced DBS from within the last year with the Adults list checked or willingness to obtain
