gap healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Ipswich for a dedicated Support Worker.

The position is full time with 12 hour day shifts 8am - 8pm.

Role Overview:

As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and supportive environment for the individual you are assisting. You will provide specialised care tailored to their unique needs, helping them manage the challenges associated with Angelman’s Syndrome, epilepsy, and scoliosis. Your role is crucial in fostering their independence, enhancing their quality of life, and helping them reach their full potential.

  • Establish a safe connection
  • Maintain clear and effective communication.
  • Stay composed during challenging situations
  • Act in any emergency situation and apply to established protocol
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities and sporting activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other healthcare professional

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a UK Vailid driving license
  • Experience in a care or support role 
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
