Job Overview

As a key player in testing enhancements for an award-winning software company, as the Senior Software Tester you will meticulously prepare and conduct manual tests. In this senior role, you will be crucial in implementing test strategies, ensuring the software developed is fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategies, estimates, and plans based on functional specifications
  • Convert detailed functional requirements into test suites and cases
  • Perform tests on new and updated software features
  • Detect and investigate software defects, collaborating with developers for efficient fixes
  • Work closely with internal business analysts to resolve requirement issues
  • Create and maintain test data, materials, and tools
  • Monitor product quality and test results, escalating risks and issues as needed
  • Actively contribute to the test strategy and policies, exploring test automation where suitable
  • Build expertise in technical areas of the software, becoming a key reference point for other staff
  • Conduct regression testing, performance testing, and other non-functional testing
  • Perform other software and website testing and technical system tasks as required

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of four years in software testing.
  • Strong knowledge of test techniques, approaches, and methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to engage with complex requirements
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Practical, systematic approach with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and liaise constructively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at pace and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-moving environment
  • Proactive self-starter with the drive to own projects, deliver results, and take on responsibility
  • Experience with test automation frameworks is desirable
