Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager with a strategic mindset and a passion for optimising supply chains and managing supplier relationships. This leadership role is pivotal in contributing to this company’s success within the manufacturing sector. Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and achieve financial targets.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely replenishment to meet production needs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with regulations.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, supplier innovations, and market conditions.
  • Work closely with other departments, including production, finance, and logistics, to align procurement activities with overall business goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are desirable bit not essential.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
