A building and construction client of ours in the Ipswich area are recruiting a Purchasing Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm and paying 38,000 - 40,000 per annum depending on experience. Hybrid working is available after a successful probation, working 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
Key Duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage daily team operations and provide training to support individual and team growth, ensuring succession planning.
- Organise updates and meetings with the Team Manager.
- Oversee specific team functions and resolve daily issues.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Lead on supplier lead time reviews.
- Present date on KPIs and non-conformance.
- Lead on demand planning and provide forecasting.
- Contribute to procurement process improvements and conduct regular audits.
- Update ERP database and ensure compliance.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Purchasing Supervisor position:
- Previous experience in a Buyer or Supervisory role including; team coaching, supplier relationship and performance development
- CIPS level 4 achieved or prepared to undertake.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of ERP system
- Advanced level of computer literacy.
- Ability to work in a fast moving/ high pressure environment
