Technical Sales Engineer required for a reputable, long established engineering company based in Ipswich. The role will require some technical, ideally engineering aptitude with the ability to read and understand technical drawings. The Technical Sales Engineer will be providing first class sales by answering any questions the customer might have about products, act as a liaison between the customer and production and to act as an expert in selling products to clients in line with their requirements and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking orders for spares requests from customers and managing the orders by keeping the customer up to date, confirming the purchase with the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, ensuring the spares are packed and dispatched within set deadlines and advising the customer of delivery dates
- To be proactive with sales by building relationships with existing customers to bring in new orders
- Update the relevant data base systems
- Answering email and telephone requests from both existing and potential customers for spares orders
- Utilise the Company database to seek out new sales opportunities
Applicants must:
- Have some technical sales experience within mechanical engineering or similar
- Be able to question, challenge and improve processes
- Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise
- Have a positive work attitude and be able to work methodically.
