Part-time Caretaker / Cleaner Operative- Gofer is recruiting a Part-time Caretaker / Cleaner to join our organisation based on Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate, Ipswich, Suffolk on a part-time basis.

About the Role:

As our Caretaker / Cleaner Operative, you will ensure the highest standards of presentation, safety, and good order of our building, grounds, fleet, and vehicles. Our head office comprises office spaces, training rooms, and warehouse areas, all of which require meticulous care and maintenance. Working 15 - 20 per week. (Hours to be worked between 8am and 5pm, Mon to Fri, over a min of 3 days).

Some other duties include:

  • Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as well as arranging deep cleaning as needed.
  • Clean inside windows and manage the outside window cleaning service.
  • Wash and dry machine-washable items as necessary.
  • Remove waste from the building and empty bins daily. Organise large waste collections.
  • Perform general maintenance like painting, repairs, and basic plumbing.
  • Regularly check systems and equipment (like air conditioning, kitchen tools, lighting, CCTV, and alarms) to ensure they work well and are clean.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in cleaning and maintenance. Report health and safety issues.
  • Help maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and ensure compliance.

About You:

You will be reliable, honest, and with a keen eye for detail. You will have experience in caretaking and cleaning roles, particularly with a strong knowledge of COSHH and health and safety standards. Proficiency in DIY and general maintenance tasks, along with the ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team, is essential. Above all, committing to maintaining a safe, clean, and happy working environment.
