Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and demonstrate proficiency in operating forklifts and other materials handling equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
- Perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as required.
- Conduct regular inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against documentation.
- Maintain an organised and clean work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, as well as materials handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Proficient in basic mathematics for inventory management and order processing.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred but can be obtained upon hiring.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
Hours of work:
1st week ES Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
2nd week BS Monday to Friday 2pm-6am
Ideal candidate must be able rotate weekly between early shift and backshift
This is ongoing position and will be pernament for the right candidate.
