A leading international Sports Betting/Gambling client is on the look out for a Platform engineer based in the Isle of Man on a permanent basis.
Platform Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Build and maintain cloud-based applications and services using AWS PaaS and SaaS offerings.
- Develop and enforce policies and best practices for IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
- Enhance platform security through access control, compliance, and regular security assessments.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and product owners to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex systems across multiple domains and platforms.
- Automate operational processes to improve engineering efficiency.
- Provide support and engineering expertise for cloud environments.
- Drive continuous integration and delivery improvements using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and AWS CodePipeline.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely resolutions.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with industry trends and recommend tools or practices to improve delivery.
Platform Engineer Key Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
Hands-on expertise in:
- AWS & Azure cloud platforms
- Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
- Python scripting
- CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- AWS certifications (e.g., Developer, DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
