We are seeking a Junior Site Operative to join a local school Isleworth, working closely with the Estates Manager who is willing to learn and grow with us. The role involves maintaining a safe and high-quality environment for our school’s staff and students. You will contribute to the school’s aims and uphold the standards set by the Governors, ensuring the school premises are well-maintained and secure.

This is a temporary to permanent position with a very competitive salary if permanent is offered after three months at £29,346.

Days/Hours - Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:15pm

Temping hourly rate £12.00 per hour.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Conduct day-to-day maintenance tasks, including small repairs, painting, decorating, and woodwork.
  • Perform porterage duties and manage the movement of equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor gate duties to ensure a secure environment, including managing access control and CCTV systems.
  • Provide support for evening events, with adjusted working hours as necessary.
  • Conduct proactive patrols, identify potential issues, and report them through the ‘Every’ system.
  • Escort suppliers/contractors on-site and oversee their work.
  • Carry out statutory inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Document tasks and observations through regular reporting.
  • Maintain water system hygiene through weekly legionella flushing.
  • Conduct weekly fire tests and assist with termly fire drills.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor stock levels and order products and services for the site team.
  • Perform outdoor duties as required, such as litter picking, window cleaning, and gritting during winter.

Required Skills.

  • Positive attitude.

Cleared Enhanced DBS required along with reference checks.
