A leading public sector organisation in Central London is seeking a skilled Asbestos Surveyor to join their team to ensure the effective management and compliance of asbestos across their property portfolio. This role requires a surveyor capable of undertaking various inspection types and providing expert advice.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Conducting a wide variety of asbestos inspections across a diverse property portfolio, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Undertaking Asbestos Management Surveys, Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys, and Re-inspections in accordance with current legislation and best practices.
- Producing comprehensive and high-quality asbestos survey reports that clearly detail findings, asbestos types, locations, and risk assessments.
- Developing and providing clear guidance documentation related to asbestos management.
- Carrying out safety inspections to ensure asbestos-related works are being conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Providing project management advice and recommendations on asbestos surveys and removal works to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Supporting the Senior Surveyor in delivering a high-level asbestos management service to all relevant services, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Facilitating effective asbestos management and compliance within the property portfolio.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on a Database or CAFM system.
What We're Looking For:
- ESSENTIAL: Hold current BOHS P402 (Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings) qualification.
- ESSENTIAL: Hold current BOHS P405 (Management of Asbestos in Buildings) qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable and recent experience as an Asbestos Surveyor, carrying out the duties outlined above.
- Proven experience in conducting Asbestos Management Surveys, Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys, and Re-inspections.
- Strong understanding of current asbestos legislation, regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs), and guidance (HSG264).
- Experience working within the public sector or social housing environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and technically accurate reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines.
