Job Role: Supply Teaching Assistant – SEND/SEMH Schools
Location: Islington
Rate: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Supply Teaching Assistant (TA) to work across SEND and SEMH schools in Islington. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in specialist educational settings while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.
Responsibilities of the Supply Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Support students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other SEND conditions.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning styles.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide holistic care.
Requirements for the Supply Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, or Support Worker (preferred).
- Experience working with SEND/SEMH students in an educational or care setting.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
