Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Supply Teaching Assistant (TA) to work across SEND and SEMH schools in Islington. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in specialist educational settings while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.

Responsibilities of the Supply Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Support students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other SEND conditions.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning styles.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide holistic care.

Requirements for the Supply Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, or Support Worker (preferred).
  • Experience working with SEND/SEMH students in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
