About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Contracts Officer to join a leading housing association in North London. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services, working closely with contractors, and ensuring that the housing association meets the needs of its residents.
As a Contracts Officer, you will play a vital role in assessing and improving the performance of contractors, ensuring that all service delivery meets our high standards, and helping create a best-in-class supply chain that is resident-focused. You will take a proactive approach to continuous improvement, ensuring that all performance indicators are met, and issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage contracts with repair and maintenance service providers, ensuring a high-quality service that aligns with resident priorities.
  • Establish and review key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate contractor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support in procurement activities, including identifying potential supply chain providers and managing the competitive bidding process.
  • Monitor and assess contractor performance using data analysis to drive improvements and enhance service delivery.
  • Work closely with performance leads, regional repair leads, and repair officers to ensure all KPIs and processes are adhered to.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective void monitoring systems, ensuring proper reporting and quality control.
  • Ensure all works are compliant with Health & Safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical expertise to support teams in delivering a high-quality service.
  • Foster strong collaboration with both internal and external teams to maintain and improve services for residents.
  • Champion the resident experience and advocate for their needs across the organisation, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Actively participate in contractor meetings, fostering effective relationships and improving service outcomes.
  • Contribute to operational risk management activities and assist in ensuring all regulations are followed.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in contract management, project management, or a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and procurement skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract regulations and the ability to formulate specifications and manage schedules of works.
  • Experience in contractor management, including monitoring performance and quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
