Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Islington, London

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic, medium-sized property services contractor based in Islington. Specialising in planned maintenance for the social housing sector, this is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team, working on essential refurbishment and maintenance contracts for local authority housing associations.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the effective financial management of contracts from pre-tender through to final account. You will be expected to:

Price tender enquiries, visit sites, take condition survey photographs, and measure works where necessary.
Provide accurate monthly valuations/accounts, ensuring variations are captured and communicated efficiently.
Ensure sub-contractor rates include necessary safety requirements and are negotiated effectively.
Prepare cost estimates for additional works requested by clients.
Assist with contract performance assessments upon project completion.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry, ideally within planned maintenance or social housing.
Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.
Full driving license.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
