Class 1 Shunter
Menzies Distribution are looking for an experienced HGV/LGV Class 1 Shunter to join our team, providing a first class service in Thrapston.
What You Want To Know:
- Working Week: Monday to Friday
- Shift Pattern: 08:00-18:00 / 50 Hours Per Week
- Salary: £39k Per Annum / £16.25 Per Hour
- Holiday allowance is 28 days inclusive of bank holidays
- Monthly Pay.
- Parking Onsite
Shunter Duties:
- To carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to commencement of shift complying with appropriate documentation and procedures.
- Ensure vehicle load is safe, secure and correctly positioned.
- Correctly check and accept load documentation and delivery paperwork.
- Correctly check in any returned goods and ensure paperwork is accurate.
- Maintain communication at all times with the Traffic Office.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, using all equipment safely as specified in operating procedures.
- Operate vehicle safely, ensuring driver actions do not endanger self or other road users.
- Comply with safe working practices at all times.
- Undertake any other reasonable job instruction to support the supply of a quality service to the customer.
- Rachet, strap and corner management.
HGV Driver/Shunter Requirements:
- A full UK C+E licence
- 12 months previous class 1 driving experience
- Previous shunting experience (desirable)
- No more than 6 points on your licence
- No previous disqualifications
- Good knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations
- This can be reasonably physical so we ask for this to be considered when applying.
