Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintenance, and repair of all types of petrol and diesel engine vehicles, plant, and machinery, with a focus on HGVs.
- Conduct regular, cyclical safety and roadworthiness inspections, including MOT preparations.
- Diagnose vehicle defects using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform general repairs and major overhauls or replacements of engines and gearboxes.
- Attend vehicle breakdowns and conduct necessary roadside repairs.
- Carry out automotive electrical work.
- Perform gas and electrical welding.
- Undertake any other tasks related to the repair and maintenance of HGVs, plant, and machinery.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of the transport industry.
- Minimum of two years of experience working on HGVs and/or LGVs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Capability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- High attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
