Marketing & Sales Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing & Sales Manager, with a strong background in companion animal health, to join my client based in Berkshire. You will ideally hold a degree and have previous experience in marketing management within an animal health business, with a focus on companion animals.

Strong field force line management, financial management and strategy expertise is essential for this role, as well as sales skills and an excellent knowledge of animal health product management.

Responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the Animal Health team, which will consist of field-based employees and the District Manager, as well as team members within Regulatory Affairs and Brand Management.
• Proposing and developing effective marketing strategies and tacticsand ensuring their implementation.
• Prepare, implement, control and evaluate the realisation of yearly marketing and sales plans.
• Suggesting specific marketing approaches and activities.
• Preparing and implementing marketing budget, forecast, different analysis, reports etc.
• Follow and analyse the consumption and stocks of products and ensuring the required optimal stocks of products
• Ensure regular and proper use of CRM system, e-learning systems and planning and reporting systems for marketing and sales employees
• Ensure rational use of promotional resources (financial and material) within the approved budget to achieve optimal results in an economical way and with optimal efficiency
• Provide sufficient promotional materials, equipment and accessories for marketing management and sales employees
• Establish and maintain good contacts with leading people/key persons in the field of animal health and animal health authorities
• Perform appraisal and assessment interviews with marketing and sales management staff
• Lead human resource and deal with personnel development issues, suggest new employment or deployments, propose promotions, education and training, participate in recruitment of marketing and sales management staff

Required Experience:

• You will need to have a strong knowledge of companion animals
• You will have previous line management experience and be able to lead an experienced animal health team of 10+ employees.
• Persistent, enthusiastic, positive and strategic approach to the role
• University degree Veterinary, Economics, Business or other equivalent education
• 10+ years of animal health experience
• Excellent corporate mindset
• Previous financial experience; forecasting and ability to complete P&L statements
