Job Title: Sales Director

Package: Up to £80k base with OTE 100k plus

Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Sales Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our sales office in the industrial markets. The Sales Director will be responsible for managing the sales team, monitoring performance, driving business development efforts, and identifying growth opportunities to support the company’s overall sales strategy. This is a leadership role that combines sales expertise with strong people management skills to ensure the team achieves targets and delivers high-quality service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Revenue Management
    • Lead, monitor, and manage the performance of the sales team to achieve individual and team sales targets.
    • Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share within the industrial industry.
    • Track sales metrics, analyse performance data, and provide regular reports to senior management.
    • Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities to expand the company’s reach and client base.
  2. Business Development
    • Proactively seek and explore new business opportunities, including identifying emerging markets and potential strategic partnerships.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to align campaigns with sales objectives and identify lead generation opportunities.
  3. People Management
    • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop the sales team to ensure high levels of performance and professional growth.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to support team members’ development.
    • Encourage a positive, collaborative work environment to motivate the team and drive productivity.
  4. Operational Oversight
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales office, including managing activities, resources, and customer interactions.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations in all sales activities and documentation.
    • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to optimise sales operations.
  5. Market Research and Strategy
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the industrial sector.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to adapt sales strategies based on market intelligence.
    • Work closely with other departments, including dispatch and accounts to align efforts with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Sales management experience, ideally within the Industrial industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a passion for coaching and team development.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
