Reed is working in partnership with a local school to appoint a dedicated Teacher responsible for ensuring the successful learning and personal development of all pupils, including those with SEN and those who may be disadvantaged. The appointed teacher will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, dedicated to securing their safety and well-being.

Day-to-day of the role:

Planning, Record-keeping, Assessment, and Reporting

  • Plan appropriate, differentiated work for the class in line with objectives and statutory requirements.
  • Keep records as directed, using assessment tools like iTrack to inform future progress in children’s learning.
  • Report children’s progress to parents as necessary, including at formal and informal consultation meetings and through end-of-year reports.
  • Complete records/prepare work as required to assist in moderation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Teaching and Learning

  • Teach, supervise, control, and ensure the pastoral care of the class, performing all associated organisational and clerical duties.
  • Set appropriate class and individual targets for improvement and ensure good or better progress towards them.
  • Operate a range of teaching styles, appropriate to the task and children’s learning styles.
  • Develop and maintain a tidy and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Respond to children’s work by marking and supporting their progress in learning.
  • Create displays which enhance and celebrate the children’s learning and self-esteem.
  • Encourage independence through clear labelling and organisation of resources.
  • Adhere to policies and code of conduct.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers.
  • Safeguard the health and safety of the children in the classroom and around the school.

General

  • Carry out duties and assemblies as directed.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and INSET, committed to continuing professional development.
  • Work effectively in partnership with other staff, including teachers and support staff.
  • Liaise with and consult parents and outside agencies as appropriate.
  • Attend specified school functions.
  • Maintain shared working areas and resources.
  • Prepare and contribute to development by sharing best practice and professional feedback.
  • Assist with the production and analysis of regular reports for management meetings.
  • Maintain designated databases/files in accordance with policies for data governance.
