Our client is a leader specialist sector. They are currently looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team based in South Shields on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our clients supply chain, ensuring that their products continue to meet the highest standards of excellence.

The Job youll do

  • As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the quality of components and materials provided by suppliers, along with leading continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Conducting quality assessments and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Evaluate new suppliers and conduct periodic audits of existing suppliers to assess performance.
  • Ensure that incoming materials and components meet required specifications through inspection and testing.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, improving product quality and reducing costs.
  • Maintain records of quality assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
  • About the successful Supplier Quality Engineer
  • As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be experienced in supplier quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments, with attention to detail and good communication skills.

About You

  • Knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC and PPAP.
  • Familiarity with hydrodynamic bearing technologies or similar manufacturing processes.
  • HNC in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.
  • Ability to travel to supplier sites both in the UK and internationally.
