We are seeking a site-based Document Controller to work for a well-known civil engineering contractor working on a project near Wallsend that will last at least 1 year in duration but has the possibility to be extended.

The role entails working a 45-hour week Monday to Friday (8am till 17:00) and the role of the document controller responsibilities will include:

  • Document Management: Organising, storing, and retrieving documents such as drawings, specifications, contracts, and reports. They ensure that all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Document Control: Ensuring that documents are reviewed, approved, and distributed according to established protocols. This includes maintaining version control and tracking document revisions.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that all documents comply with relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements. They may be responsible for verifying that documents meet industry and company standards.
  • Communication: Facilitating communication between different stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and clients. They distribute documents to the appropriate parties and ensure that everyone is working with the most up-to-date information.
  • Quality Control: Conducting quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documents. They may also be involved in auditing document control processes to maintain high standards.
  • Document Tracking and Reporting: Keeping track of document status and workflows. They may generate reports on document progress, outstanding approvals, and compliance with deadlines.
  • Training and Support: Providing training and support to team members on document control procedures and systems. This includes helping staff understand how to use document management software and adhere to document control processes.
  • Software Management: Using and maintaining document control software systems. This includes setting up user permissions, managing document workflows, and troubleshooting any issues with the software.

The role could well lead to further, full time employment due to the level of work our client has. As the company has offices here in the North East and a considerable pipeline of work you would only be required to work in the North East region.
