Job Summary: The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment in the production process. This role ensures the efficient and safe production of coreboard products, adhering to quality standards and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate production machinery in accordance with operational procedures and safety standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of products being produced, ensuring they meet the specified standards. Perform regular inspections and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including operational logs, production data, and any incidents or deviations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth production processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
- Education: GCSEs or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machinery operation is a plus.
- Skills:
- Ability to operate and maintain machinery. o Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Shift Work: 2 shift patterns and candidates need to be available for both.
- Environment: The role is based in a manufacturing plant with exposure to machinery noise and other industrial hazards. PPE will be provided.
