Quantity Surveyor – Civils

Swadlincote (Covering the North East and Yorkshire)

Monday to Friday, 41.5 Hours per week. Hybrid/Flexible working can be considered.

Quantity Surveyor required for a leading construction company specialising in piling and foundations. On offer is a role with fantastic benefits, and opportunity for further career development and training with funding towards this.

The Quantity Surveyor Role:

  • Visiting clients’ sites across the Northeast and Yorkshire 20% of the time.
  • Propose amendments to contracts and negotiate with clients.
  • Attend pre-contract and pre-start meetings to ensure the most favourable terms of contract are secured.
  • To carry out full CVR of all contracts monthly.
  • Inform client of any variations and agree extra costs and final accounts in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and preparation of sub-contractor payments and forecasts.
  • Check purchase ledger subcontract accounts.
  • To generate timely applications, invoices and final accounts, to meet client deadlines, ensuring that cash flow is always paramount. This includes preparation of information in support of all claims and variation work.
  • To manage and oversee subcontractors working for the company fully comply with back-to-back terms of business.

The Successful Quantity Surveyor:

  • Quantity surveying experience including measurement, valuation, CVR & change management.
  • Attention to detail, able to read and understand complex contracts.
  • Experience of JCT and NEC forms of contract or equivalent.
  • Proven negotiation experience.
  • Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying or equivalent qualification in law and / or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Extensive project experience.
