Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Estimator for our client based in Renfrewshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the head office and work closely with the commercial team, supporting both construction managers and reactive maintenance teams in the delivery of high-quality projects across various sites.

Role Overview

The Assistant Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations, supporting the wider team with project planning and budget control. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of construction processes and a keen eye for detail, looking to further their career within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend site visits to carry out on-site measurement and scoping.
  • Produce cost estimates and quotations based on site assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for internal management review.
  • Support the commercial team in developing pricing strategies.
  • Work alongside construction managers and maintenance teams to gather project requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within a Assistant Estimator position.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills.
  • Experience using NSR or similar schedule of rates.
  • HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, or relevant industry experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to multiple sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn specialist software.
