Senior AccountantLocation: KeighleySalary: £35,000 -£50,000 paType: Full-time Our client, a well-established accountancy practice, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team following their recent move to larger premises. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a new and diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to partnerships and limited companies, with potential for progression to manager level for the right candidate. This position provides the opportunity to develop your expertise in a smaller, client-focused practice where you will gain exposure to a varied range of work. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values professional growth and client satisfaction. Role and Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
  • Managing client communications and addressing accounting-related inquiries.
  • Compiling financial accounts from various sources, including incomplete records and digital platforms.
  • Preparing and filing corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior team members by reviewing their work.
  • Setting up and maintaining new client profiles.
  • Providing assistance with VAT submissions and bookkeeping tasks during high-demand periods.
  • Undertaking miscellaneous projects and tasks as required.  
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Sage, and Xero.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Proven expertise in preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and drive new business opportunities.
  • ACA or ACCA qualifications (desirable).
