Bennett and Game are delighted to be partnering a local accountancy practice near Keighley as they recruit for a Senior Accountant, to join their growing team. Offering circa £35,000-£45,000 23 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays, company pension, on site parking, and more.

This role is well suited for an ambitious accountant, looking to expand their experience in a reputable practice, and for someone looking for progression. There are plenty of opportunities for the right candidate to progress to leadership and management positions

Senior Accountant Job Overview
  • Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records. Including statutory, year-end accounts, and management accounts
  • Company and personal tax return preparation (personal tax experience, not essential)
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, liaising with them on all accounting matters, and maintaining excellent relationships
  • VAT returns/Bookkeeping assistance where required during busy periods
  • Other ad-hoc projects as they arise
Senior Accountant Job Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified. Will consider QBE but must have minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years recent experience within a UK based, qualified firm of accountants is desirable
  • Management accounts experience desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies and Partnerships, including LLPs
  • Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
  • Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and word is essential
