Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead/Designated Safeguarding Lead & Manager

£24,491 (£106 per day) - £27,041 (£117 per day)

Depending on experience + Private Medical

This is a Term-time Contract plus 2 weeks – 230 days

Bradford & Keighley – Driving licence and own vehicle required

Pipeline Productions is a dedicated alternative provision for young people aged 11 - 16 who, for many reasons, have become disengaged from mainstream education. We specialise in Business, Arts and Sports as well as delivering English and Maths to all pupils. We are now looking to appoint an experienced and passionate Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead/ Designated Safeguarding Lead & Manager to join our dedicated and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the behaviour of pupils at all times
  • Ensuring all safeguarding protocols are followed at all times
  • Managing pupil attendance
  • Ensuring staff are carrying out their duties correctly
  • Looking after everyone’s wellbeing
  • Managing and leading a team

This role will also receive support from the Director who will oversee induction training and CPD.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A natural ability to engage and motivate staff
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience of managing and leading a small team
  • Practical experience of conflict management
  • As this role requires some home visits a driving licence and own car is required
  • A proven track record of working with vulnerable young people
  • A natural ability to engage and motivate young people with multiple and complex needs
  • A knowledge of the many barriers to learning that affect disengaged and disaffected young people
  • A working knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices in an education setting
  • A knowledge of the risks that many disengaged and disaffected young people experience, including CSE and CCE
  • A knowledge of the risks of young people online and of keeping safe

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience of wellbeing
  • Recognised mediation training
  • Autism Awareness training
  • First Aid training
