Estimator Required!

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke furniture and specialised joinery for commercial buildings. They deliver tailored solutions for a range of commercial environments, including stadiums, hotels, universities, and more, both across the UK and abroad.

On behalf of our client, we are now looking to recruit an Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will provide accurate cost estimates for various projects.

The sucessful candidate should live in commutable distance, this position is Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5pm, fulltime in their office in Cross Hills.

Estimator - Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting detailed project estimates, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Analyse project requirements, interpret technical drawings, and assess materials and labour needs.
  • Collaborate with the design, procurement, and project teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Support in evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes and determining cost-effective options.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of past project costs and industry pricing trends.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss estimates and address any questions.
  • Preparing bid proposals and tender submissions

Estimator -Requirements:

  • 2 years experience in an estimating role within a construction or engineering environment
  • Strong ability to read drawings, break down large enquiry packs and extract all information relevant to our trade.
  • The ability to work on several projects at a time, managing own time effectively and meeting regular tight deadlines
  • An understanding of the bespoke design, manufacture and installation process and in turn the ability to quantify labour hours required for each of these departments from drawings and specifications provided.
  • Willingness to attend client meetings and site visits as and when required for the best possible understanding of projects, maintaining a smart and professional appearance at all times
