HGV Workshop Manager

I'm delighted to be recruiting for my Client based near Skipton for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to join their highly successful business.

You will provide leadership to the Workshop Team and will be hands-on on being responsible for the organisation and management of the Workshop.

Responsibilities

  • Organising workshop workload ensuring Company quality and efficiency standards are achieved prioritising the workflow whilst ensuring we meet current legislations, health & safety and DVSA standards
  • Monitor the requirement and authorisation of replacement parts ensuring all parts replacement is authorised by the leadership team/manufacture (Warranty/R&M) prior to repair.
  • Ensure effective fault diagnosis by the Workshop team and subsequent rectification of defects through coaching and mentoring
  • Manage workshop staff, ensuring productivity levels of engineers meet company expectations.
  • All documentation to be completed in line with the company's procedures and to ensure this meets the manufactures warranty and R&M standards, completing and submitting to central admin in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all sub-contract repairs are recorded and costed correctly before processing invoices.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, health and safety procedures in line with quality standards.

Candidate Experience

  • Previous experience of managing a mixed ability team
  • Previous experience of servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to a high standard
  • Previous experience of maintaining a tight controls on costs
  • Previous experience of completing service and repair documentation and records to meet required standards
  • Up to date knowledge of basic H&S legislation and practice and DVSA requirements
  • This is a mixture of office/workshop based role

An annual salary of up to £45,000 will be offered based upon experience

Hours of work are Monday to Friday
