Our Teconnex site location in Keighley, near Bradford, west Yorkshire, now seeks to recruit a HSE Manager for the manufacturing plant and head office - employing over 350 staff.

The plant is made up with White and Blue collar workers. Operating machinery to make our products mainly from steel, so we have 600 ton presses, CNC, Spot Welding, packing, logistics all on site.

The HSE Manger will lead the direct reports of the HSE team to provide operational Health, Safety and Environmental leadership across all areas of the Keighley site with hands on approach to support, advice and problem solving and communicate with all stakeholders in the business to implement required standards.

Implement the Health & Safety management system and maintain the Environmental framework ISO 14001. Taking responsibility for the collaborative implementation and management of robust health, safety and environmental processes and procedures, considering best practice and the operational needs of the business. Ensuring that Teconnex Keighley Site complies with all current Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.


  • Work closely with the Global Head of HSE to ensure the organisation's HSE strategy is implemented successfully
  • To promote company values in all dealings with other employees, sub-contractors, and other external contacts.
  • Overall responsibility, development and compliance of the Companys H&S objectives and KPIs.
  • Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety, safe working practices and awareness in the workplace, to promote safety and enhance the HSE culture
  • Management of the site UK HSE Dept., including Occupational Health, Wellbeing.
  • Coordinate incident investigations where required, managing safety concern, near miss, accident and RIDDOR; ensuring robust investigation and root cause incident prevention
  • Engaging across the site, implementing health and safety policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Provide relevant training, education, communication and subject matter expertise to the site, conducting training, toolbox talks, inductions etc. where required.
  • To identify possible operational risks or opportunities, and work with operational teams to ensure appropriate and effective responses.


TECHNICAL COMPETENCY LEVEL

  • Health and Safety
  • Nebosh National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • (or equivalent)
  • Environment
  • Internal auditor training for ISO 14001

ESSENTIALS

  • Significant experience in a similar role preferably with high volume manufacturing or engineering
  • Demonstrative HSE leadership - led a small team of Health & Safety professionals.
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of Environmental standard ISO1400
  • Good working knowledge of ISO45001, PUWER assessments, auditing and culture development
