We are now seeking a Graduate Design Engineer to join a well-established company specialising in material handling and heavy industry. This role is ideal for a Design Engineering graduate with some work experience in design or engineering who is looking to kick-start their career with hands-on experience in the industrial sector.

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will be part of an innovative team working on exciting projects involving structural steel, cranes, and large-scale industrial equipment. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, gain valuable experience, and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
  • Support the design of components and systems for material handling and heavy industry applications
  • Work with experienced engineers on stress analysis and design calculations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet practical and manufacturable requirements
  • Help ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations
  • Provide support for hydraulic, gearbox, and motor systems in collaboration with senior engineers
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas to improve product quality and cost-efficiency

Required Skills:

  • Basic proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD software)
  • A foundational understanding of hydraulics, gearboxes, and motors
  • Some experience or internship in industrial design or engineering is preferred
  • Familiarity with material properties and mechanical design principles
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt
