2x SEND Teaching Assistant – Special School

North Bradford

Pay  £100- £120 per day 

 

PK Education are working with a generic special school in the North of Bradford, who are looking for a 2 x Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants.

There is a full time position and a part time (Mon-Wed ) to start 4th December for at least one full term.

You will be working with Primary age students that are Non-verbal and Pre-verbal. As you can imagine the role can be quite challenging as some behaviours can be biting and spitting. therefore  the role is suited to someone with experience working with students with special educational needs in a special school or similar setting hence the pay being so competitive.

Job Spec:

  • Support the teacher as a SEND Teaching assistant and the SEND students within the class, ensuring the needs of the students met at all times.
  • Must have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs from early year’s foundation.
  • Be prepared to get involved.
  • Build trusted relationships with the students.
  • Provide a nurturing approach to understand the student’s abilities and frustrations to create a positive outcome in their learning.

Job Spec:

  • Must have minimum Level two teaching assistant or equivalent.
  • It would be an advantage if you have GNVQ level 2 Health and Social care, SEND Diploma or equivalent.
  • MAKATON, PECS, VISUAL AID, PEG FEED, HOIST TRAINED all an advantage, but not essential.
  • Must be highly enthusiastic and a highly motivated individual with a real passion for supporting children with differentiated needs.  
  • Have knowledge of the children and young people on the Autistic spectrum disorder and severe learning difficulties.
  • Fully committed and adaptable.
  • Must have Valid DBS on the subscription service or willing to complete one
  • Be willing to have a flexible approach.
  • Competitive rates of pay between £100 - £120 per day.
