This is a newly created role of Head of Quality that will evolve our company, to incorporate best in class and consistency throughout all of our plants, which are located in West Yorkshire (Keighley), Romania, India and Mexico, and a joint venture located in China.
This role will build on some excellent foundations at Teconnex; it is a pivotal part in building better Quality processes that suit our business, products and markets; and also form effective relationships between product development, operations, quality and sales functions, amongst others.
The ideal candidate will be the subject matter expert for product quality assurance including strategic planning to optimise quality & will build on the foundations of substantial, successful, international growth.
Responsible for group-wide direction, policy setting and hands-on leadership of product quality assurance.
This is a hybrid hands-on and managerial role, leading a small group of people based internationally in our key operating locations, developing from our historic industrial base to a truly exceptional, harmonised global approach.
Putting Quality to the top of daily activity across all of the Teconnex group facilities UK, Romania, India, México and also supporting our JV in China.
Driving our evolution from react and inspect to predict and assure.
About you;
- It is essential that you have a proven track record of Quality Management positions, gained in related engineering & manufacturing industries (stamping, pressing, forming, welding, machining etc.) Ideally within a multiple site plants, with international sites.
- A leader of people, who can develop, influence, manage direct reports, teams and colleagues to further the quality agenda.
- Deep understanding of Automotive & Aerospace customer expectations (both in terms of AS9100, IATF16949 and in product quality fulfilment). Experience in managing quality expectations with audit bodies and key customer relationships
- Demonstrable record of evolving a business from an inspection led mindset to one that is truly proactive, minimising human factors in product quality
- It is desriable that you have International experience customers, plants and cultures.
- Experience in maintaining / improving quality outcomes in well-invested plants, experiencing high growth trajectories and understanding the challenges that brings
- Detailed understanding of the application of relevant Lean Six Sigma tools & their contemporary use / benefits
- Quality Assurance in NPI would be desirable
- Green / Blackbelt certification would be an advantage
- Flexible to travel to international sites periodically throughout the year, as necessary to maintain and establish, processes and change.
