We are currently recruiting for a Head of Quality / Quality Manager to join a busy and expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based in Keighley.

Interested candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and look to truly educate staff in relation to Quality processes.This role will also be part of the senior leadership team on site and as such we are looking for someone with a drive to develop the role further.

The role will focus on management of the ISO 9001 standards across the business and management of a team of 6 staff.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role with exposure to working within a Manufacturing Engineering environment with knowledge of regulated industries (Oil and Gas/ Defence/ Aerospace). Knowledge of such as API, Pressure Equipment Directives, CE Mark and ISO9001 are needed for this.

Hours - Monday Friday (36.5 hours per week)

Role Description

  • Act as the business expert on quality management and provide any necessary training and advise to managers and staff to ensure collective pursuit of quality management and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the inspection of products to ensure they meet the required legal standards as defined by the customer specifications.
  • Develop strategies and processes in ensure total quality management is promoted across the business and to ensure the 9001 standards are maintained.
  • Oversee the generation of comprehensive documentation and information about products to ensure that customers are given the required information for effective use while ensuring the requirements for 9001 are met.
  • Create and implement a CI Process for the ongoing development of existing products to ensure their continued suitability for the future markets, taking in to account changing industry standards and requirements.
  • Direct, support and nurture the quality team to ensure all are motivated and trained to meet their responsibilities.
  • Identify skill gaps within the quality department and work with HR to upskill or recruit to fill these needs.

Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrable experience within asimilar Quality Management role within anengineering/ manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to manufacture of low volume, high variety components
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API Standards, Pressure Equipment Directive, CE Mark .
  • Internal Auditor Qualifications 9001 - Lead auditor qualifications advantageous
  • Ability to coach, train and engage employees
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving License
