About the RoleWe have an immediate vacancy for a Waking Night Support Worker at our residential care home in Steeton. This is a solo working role, providing overnight support for two children aged 6 and 8 with complex needs. The 6-year-old is an early riser, typically waking up around 5 am, so we need a proactive and experienced individual to manage the night and early morning routines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overnight care and ensure the safety of the children.
  • Respond promptly to any medical or emotional needs during the night.
  • Manage morning routines, including wake-ups and preparing for the day ahead.
  • Conduct regular checks and ensure a safe environment throughout the night.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with care plans.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with solo working experience in a residential setting.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with confidence.
