Our client is currently recruiting a Shift Operator/Technician on what will be a 3-month temporary contract. You will safely carry out operations to meet or exceed the daily input and output targets and apply operational policies and risk assessments to ensure that day to day operations are compliant, are carried out safely, efficiently and effectively, to the highest quality, positively driving the performance of the site.

Responsibilities

Assist the Process Team Leader with continually improving processes working towards Manufacturing Excellence.

Carry out first line maintenance tasks as per CMMS.

Operating industrial plant and associated equipment via a combination of automated (SCADA) and manual inputs.

Monitoring, controlling to and reporting on critical control parameters.

Troubleshooting plant operations. Identifying and correcting process deviations.

Carry out charging activities where required for feedstock and / or consumables depending on site requirements.

Carrying out regular plant walkarounds to assess condition and capability of plant equipment. This includes the taking of meter readings daily.

Complete minor maintenance as per schedule provided. Recording findings in company computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)

Liaise with the maintenance team and raise work orders for unplanned maintenance work as required.

Creation of permits to work for maintenance / engineering activities on site

Experience & Skills

Must have previous experience in a similar role - or have relevant other experience and can show an awareness of plant operations.

Experience, or a demonstrable awareness of, using SCADA/Control system.

Ability to carry out basic maintenance in a plant environment.

Proficient computer skills- ability to use basic Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel.

Flexibility to work on shift pattern and to provide shift cover as necessary.
