Adkins & Cheurfi Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our client's presitigious 5-star Country House Estate & Hotel in Kelso.

You will work alongside other senior chefs to assist the Culinary Director in leading the culinary department and creating an engaging and supportive working environment. You will also be responsible for day-to-day supervision, Creation, preparation and service of Pastry, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times to the standards required by the hotel.

The Hotel and Estate have recently expanded to include new Spa facilities, banqueting and events spaces and additional rooms and lodges, this is a great time to join a growing team with big ambitious as we approach the new year.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • You will run a controlled and smooth kitchen service to deliver quality food and a luxury experience to our guests
  • You will display passion for the culinary world and inspire and lead the team
  • You will proactively contribute to new ideas by creating and developing new seasonal dishes for our menus
  • Ensuring all team members have healthy and fulfilling meals with lots of choice
  • You will ensure that the kitchen consistently excel in the service and product that is delivered
  • Ensure high standard of cleanliness and food safety & hygiene maintained at all times
  • Work as part of the kitchen team, communicating well with others to always ensure the smooth operation of services
  • Have full awareness of all menu items for the section of the kitchen allocated
  • Maintain a can-do and problem-solving attitude with a fantastic eye for detail and precision

Your Knowledge & Capabilities:

  • You have previous experience as a Pastry Chef minimum 3 years, working as part of a fast-moving, quality driven, culinary team
  • Ideally you will have experience in working in a 4/5 Star environment.
  • You have a passion for food and delivering high standards for our guests
  • You have a good eye for detail and demonstrate pride in your work
  • You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships within a team
  • You are a strong team player and enjoy leading a team
