Are you an experienced General Foreman seeking an exciting freelance opportunity? Our client, a reputable civil engineering contractor, is looking for a skilled and proactive General Foreman to join their team on a freelance basis for a civil engineering project in Kelso, Scotland. The project is expected to start in April and will run for a duration of 4-8 months.
About the Role:
As the General Foreman, you will oversee the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the timely and successful completion of the project. You’ll be responsible for managing site resources, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the construction site, ensuring all work is carried out safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Oversee and support on-site teams, including subcontractors, ensuring high-quality work and maintaining efficient progress.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Monitor and report on site progress to project management, addressing any issues promptly.
- Manage logistics, materials, and site equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure the project meets all quality and technical specifications.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman in civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage and motivate the site team.
- Ability to manage site progress and resolve problems proactively.
- Experience with civil engineering projects, such as roads, drainage, and infrastructure works.
- Freelance or contract experience is desirable.
