About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Compact and Balers Engineer to join our team in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of compactors, balers, and other waste-handling equipment across a variety of industrial and commercial sites. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, manage your schedule, and provide high-quality technical support to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of compactors, balers, and other waste management equipment on client sites.
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Routine inspections and compliance checks to ensure equipment meets safety standards.
  • Customer training on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Maintain detailed service records and complete job reports.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to manage stock and ensure timely repairs.
  • Travel within the West Midlands region with occasional work in neighbouring areas.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience working with compactors, balers, or industrial machinery.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience working in field service roles is highly desirable.
  • UK Driving Licence (Essential).
