We’re recruiting for a Financial Operations Manager to join our clients team based in Kendal. Our client is an award winning, highly innovative company who take huge pride in their products and dynamic working environment.

We’re looking for an analytical expert who has a knack for strategic decision-making. A candidate who thrives in a proactive environment where they will manage production, demand/supply, and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demand & Supply Management: Align demand and supply with sales forecasts to meet business and customer commitments.
  • Strategic Planning: Oversee the production facility and global co-manufacturers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Production teams both locally and globally.
  • Factory Operations: Ensure efficient operations and control raw material and finished goods inventory.

The role:

  1. Production Planning:
    • Develop an 18-month production plan for the Kendal facility and global co-manufacturers.
    • Optimise factory efficiency and productivity.
    • Ensure timely order placement with global manufacturers, considering lead times and capacity constraints.
  2. Raw Material & Stock Control:
    • Manage raw material requirements and monitor finished goods stock levels.
    • Adjust plans and orders to minimise stock disposals and financial impact.
  3. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare and present analytical reports on stock levels, production outputs, and financial impact.
    • Maintain data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Contribute to budget and forecast creation, ensuring alignment with company goals.
    • Monitor performance and provide recommendations.
  5. Excel Expertise:
    • Utilise advanced Excel skills for modelling, forecasting, and reporting.
  6. Decision Making & Problem Solving:
    • Make data-driven decisions to support operational and financial strategies.
    • Proactively identify and resolve inefficiencies.

Required skills and experience:

  • Advanced Excel Skills: High proficiency in Excel modelling and visualisation.
  • Decision-Making: Exceptional and confident decision-making capabilities.
  • Proactivity: Ability to identify and solve issues in advance.
  • Attention to Detail: Detailed review of data and models to maximise accuracy.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of production planning, material supply, and new product development (NPD).
