About:
Our client is a very well established construction business based in North Manchester. They work on various new build and refurbishment projects across the North West. They are working on a large social housing refurbishment project in the Cumbria area, focusing on kitchen and bathroom replacements and they are looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Manager in overseeing the refurbishment works on social housing projects.
- Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site labor.
- Monitor the progress of work to ensure it stays on schedule and within budget.
- Help maintain project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and quality control checklists.
- Liaise with residents and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption during works and maintain excellent communication.
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant building codes and standards.
- Report on site progress and any issues that may arise to the Site Manager.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in social housing refurbishment or construction projects is desirable.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and residents.
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn.
- Relevant qualification (e.g., in construction management, site supervision, or a similar field) is preferred.
- CSCS Card, First Aid, and other relevant site certifications are beneficial.
